Austria´s Best Companies

For the 25th time, the best companies in Austria were honoured within the framework of the “Austria’s Leading Companies” (ALC) Awards.

All of the entrants are assessed using a specially developed system of key performance indicators by the press, PwC Austria and creditor protection association KSV1870. This results in a ranking seen as the “Oscars of Austrian industry”. Prangl has been represented since the competition began.

In 2023, the company succeeded in gaining 19th place in the Vienna ranking in the “Large companies” category. Once again, Prangl also came 81st in Austria as a whole. In all, around 370 companies accepted the ALC challenge this year.

Best Suppliers

The trade magazine "Solid" asked: Who are the best suppliers for the construction industry and construction trades?

Every year, the readers of the "Solid" newsletter have the opportunity to vote for the top suppliers in the construction industry. Assessments are made using a 5-star system in different categories (production quality, service/timeliness, price/performance, etc.)

Yet again Prangl have held their ground in the "Construction machinery" segment. Coming in at 7, they have once again reached the top 10. This confirms once again the applied philosophy of enhanced service quality.

Sustainable networking

Prangl focuses on networking and exchange. Europe aims to become the first climate-neutral continent by 2050 with the European Green Deal.

Prangl has also made emissions reduction its goal – with a range of projects devised to reduce the use of fossil fuels, such as the expansion of photovoltaics and the use of heat pumps in the depots. A new "Eco" fleet category has also been created, comprising pollutant-free and low-emission machines with hybrid or electric drives.

The path towards a climate-neutral Europe can only be taken as a community. In order to achieve these goals,
far-reaching measures are being taken to protect the environment, reduce emissions and promote the green economy. Since August 2023, Prangl has been a member of the Energy Forum Austria, a non-profit association that serves as an expert platform across various industries in Austria. Within the forum, strategies for overcoming sustainability challenges are commonly developed and knowledge is mutually exchanged. Working in accordance with the guidelines of the Energy Forum Austria, the company's current situation was analysed with an independent consultant and a catalogue of goals jointly developed. These goals will now become part of the Prangl sustainability journey.

Best Managed Companies

Deloitte and Raiffeisenlandesbank Niederösterreich-Wien recognise the nation's best managed companies for the third time.

Within the framework of "Austria's Best Managed Companies" Award, participants were evaluated according to four focus categories, with an independent jury of experts ultimately recognising the 20 top performers. The award ceremony took place at a gala event.

“A great initiative to highlight companies and their performance. Because innovative companies are poster children and important for the location”, said finance minister Magnus Brunner.

The programme is now established in over 50 countries and draws on benchmarks from several thousand Best Managed Companies around the world. The event was held for the third time in Austria this year. Prangl was there for the second time.

“This award is a reward for all our employees who do an outstanding job, day in day out. In challenging times more than ever, you need partners who you can fully rely on," enthuses Christian Prangl.

In the international Top Tier

Once more, Prangl has been recognized as belonging to the top companies in the international crane and work platform industry.

According to the trade publication ”International Cranes” the family business from Austria is among the best crane rental companies in the world. Coming in at 26, we are the only representative from Austria inside the top 30. The annual evaluation from the magazine ”Kran & Bühne” shows a similar picture. In the German-speaking regions, Prangl is ranked 8th among the top 10 crane rental corporations.

When it comes to the aerial work platform sector, the situation is equally pleasing. According to ”Kran & Bühne”, which awarded Prangl 11th place, Prangl is also top in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Prangl was also included in the "Access International" magazine's evaluation. Every year, the world's largest aerial work platform rental companies are rated here. Coming in at 49th, we are the only representative from Austria in the International comparison.

"ECO" Product Line

An important point in Prangl's sustainability strategy is the environmentally friendly equipment in the ECO, electric or hybrid range.

In order to move the world of its customers not only safely but also sustainably, Prangl has created a new series of equipment: the ECO-Line. This new rental range in the field of mobile lifting and access technology focuses on reducing CO2 emissions. The units shine with emission-free operation, low noise pollution and environmental friendliness – making them ideally suited for sensitive work areas.  They are powered exclusively by electricity, have a hybrid drive or can be used in electric crane operation.

Around 40 percent of Prangl's rental equipment is already part of the ECO-Line, the electric or the hybrid range. And the number is growing in all product areas. The first mobile cranes with hybrid drive have already been delivered. Wherever possible, the ECO and electric equipment is charged via the company's own photovoltaic systems. Prangl is proud to be making an active contribution to climate neutrality.
